Who we are

Bath Horizon is operated by Tom Dennis, trading as Bath Horizon (bathhorizon.co.uk). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at privacy@bathhorizon.co.uk .

What data we collect

Enquiry data

When you submit a property enquiry, valuation request, or group tour enquiry through our lead generation forms, we collect: your name, email address, telephone number, property type preference, number of bedrooms, budget range, and intended timeline. This information is provided voluntarily by you.

Analytics data

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site. GA4 collects data including pages visited, session duration, device type, and approximate geographic location. IP addresses are anonymised. GA4 data is processed by Google LLC under a data processing agreement with Bath Horizon.

Advertising cookies

If you consent, we use advertising cookies to serve relevant adverts. These cookies may be set by third-party advertising networks. You can withdraw consent at any time via our cookie preference centre (see Cookie Policy below).

How we use your data

  • Enquiry matching: property and valuation enquiries are routed to matched, contracted Bath estate agents within one hour of submission. Group tour enquiries are routed to contracted tour operators. We share only the data you have provided on the form.
  • Service improvement: analytics data helps us understand which content is useful and improve the site.
  • Legal compliance: we retain records where required by UK law.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Legal basis for processing

  • Enquiry data: processed on the basis of your consent, given when you tick the consent checkbox on our lead generation forms.
  • Analytics data: processed on the basis of your consent, given when you accept analytics cookies via our cookie banner.
  • Advertising data: processed on the basis of your consent, given when you accept advertising cookies via our cookie banner.

Data retention

  • Enquiry data: retained for 12 months from the date of submission, then permanently deleted.
  • Analytics data: retained under GA4 default retention settings (14 months).
  • Advertising cookies: session-scoped or as specified by the advertising network; never longer than 12 months.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure ("right to be forgotten") of your personal data where we have no lawful reason to retain it.
  • Restriction of processing in certain circumstances.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@bathhorizon.co.uk . We will respond within one calendar month. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk .

Cookie policy

We use three categories of cookie:

  • Essential cookies: required for the site to function. These include the cookie consent record. No consent is needed for essential cookies. They are deleted when you close your browser or after a short session period.
  • Analytics cookies: set by Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymised usage data. These are only set with your consent.
  • Advertising cookies: set by advertising networks to serve relevant adverts. These are only set with your explicit consent and are session-scoped unless stated otherwise by the network.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the site footer. Withdrawing consent will not affect data already collected.

Third-party links

Bath Horizon contains affiliate links to third-party booking platforms including Booking.com, GetYourGuide, Viator, and Thermae Bath Spa. These sites have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their data practices.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when published at this URL. Material changes will be flagged on the site for 30 days.
