The most consistent weekly market in Bath — 30 local producers under the Victorian iron roof of Green Park Station. Produce arrives fresh from nearby farms. Covers: fruit and vegetables (seasonal), meat and game, cheeses, bread and pastry, charcuterie, hot food stalls. The covered location makes it weatherproof. Running since 1997; one of the oldest farmers markets in the South West.

Walcot Street, Bath BA1 · Free entry

Monthly market on Bath's independent street. Primarily antiques, vintage furniture, and crafts, with food traders woven through. The street itself is worth a morning regardless of the market — the strip of independent shops, studios, and cafes makes it Bath's most characterful neighbourhood walk. Good for unusual finds; not a tourist-schmaltz market.

Frome town centre (25 min from Bath) · Free entry

Not in Bath — but Frome's Independent Market, 25 minutes by car, is one of the best artisan markets in the region. 200+ independent traders, genuinely high quality. Worth combining with a Frome day trip if you're interested in craft, design, food, and independent retail at a higher-than-average standard.

Late November to mid-December (3 weeks)

Abbey Green, Orange Grove, Saw Close · Free entry

One of England's largest Christmas markets — 170+ chalets through the Georgian city centre streets. Heavy food and drink presence (mulled wine, Bath sausages, hot chocolate, cheeses). Craft, gift, and seasonal goods alongside. The setting (Georgian Bath stone, outdoor stalls, Christmas lighting) is excellent. Weekday visits are considerably less crowded than weekends. Public transport strongly recommended — parking is expensive and scarce in Bath city centre.
