3 days in Bath
Three days is the sweet spot for Bath: two days for the city, one for a day trip. Day one covers the Roman and Georgian core, day two the crescents, spa and Bridgerton, and day three heads out to Stonehenge, the Cotswolds, Bristol or Wells. Here's how to plan it.

The three-day itinerary
- Day 1
The Roman and Georgian core
Start at the Roman Baths at opening (9am, from £22) before the crowds, then Bath Abbey next door (free, donation; tower tours from £10). Lunch in the Pump Room or the Guildhall Market. Afternoon: walk Stall Street and Milsom Street, cross Pulteney Bridge, and wander Great Pulteney Street to the Holburne Museum. Dinner in the centre, then Pulteney Bridge floodlit after dark.
- Day 2
Crescents, spa and Bridgerton
Walk up to the Circus and the Royal Crescent early for the light and quiet. Late morning at the Museum of East Asian Art or a Bridgerton filming-locations walk. Book an afternoon session at Thermae Bath Spa (from £40) — the rooftop pool is the trip's highlight. Afternoon tea (from around £28) or a relaxed dinner to finish.
- Day 3
A day trip — your pick
With Bath's headline sights covered, use day three to get out. A guided tour handles the logistics: Stonehenge (about an hour away, tours from ~£40) or the Cotswold villages (Castle Combe is just 12 miles, tours from ~£45). If you'd rather stay on rails, Bristol is 11 minutes by train, and Wells — England's smallest city — is about 40 minutes by bus. Back in Bath for a final dinner.
